This game is the tenth generation in the roman numeral series of Final Fantasy. That shows enough, that the game is simply amazing. In my country (Australia) the game has hit platinum, which means it's sold over 1 million copies, and that is just ps2 alone.
The main story line is about a young boy named Tidus (who is the only playable character who is able to rename at start) who gets taken through 1000 years time into a world called Spira by a strange creature named Sin, who terrorizes this new world. In Spira, Tidus meets 5 other friends along his journey, who all decide to become a guardian for a girl called Yuna. Yuna is a summoner, daughter of a high summoner who had Sir Auron and Sir Jecht by his side as guardians, Sir Jecht turns out to be Tidus's Father, who 1000 years ago, was a Famous Blitzball player, the best in his generation. Sir Auron finds Yuna and her guardians and decides to help her on her journey of becomming a high summoner and bringing the enternal calm.
