How to get Tournesol

Make sure that you have done the following:
1. Obtained the Hunter's Monograph (go talk to gatsly in Muthru Bazaar after mark Thexter. 18,000 gil.)
2. Obtained the Warmage’s Monograph
3. Defeated 8 Espers (for a gemsteel from Monteblanc)
4. Achieved High Guardian rank (for Empyreal Soul)
5. Have Thief's Cuffs
6. Vanquished Ixtab (for Soul Powder) and Deathscythe (for Soul of Thamasa)
7. Defeated Thalassinon
8. Obtained Canopic Jar by selling rewards from Gil Snapper (for Phobo Glaze), Orthros (for Horakthy’s Flame), and Trickster (for Deimos Clay)hunts

Scarletite: Steal from rare trophy game Aspidochelon in Cerobi Steppe, Feddik River with a 40% appearance chance. He is located in the middle near adamatitans. Use Theif’s Cuffs. DO NOT KILL OR IT WILL DISSAPEAR FOREVER. Need a total of 2

Damascus Steel: Steal from rare trophy game Bluesang in Cerobi Steppe, Crossfield with a 40% appearance chance. He is located in the western side, near the windmills. DO NOT KILL OR IT WILL DISSAPEAR FOREVER. Need a total of 4

(For Scarletite and Damascus Steel, it is best to save after finding one, and if neither of them are there, then go to the save crystal and take the south exit, and then go back and try again, until one of them is there, steal, and then save, and then repeat)

Hell-Gate's Flame: 5% Drop from Cerberus with a Hunters monograph. Chains don’t matter for monograph drops. Located in the Feywood, Walk of Stolen Truths. Just walk back and forth two screens from the west of the Walk of Stolen Truths (to the Walk of Dancing shawdow and then north to Walk of Flitting Rifts) Need a total of 4

Empyreal Soul: (Bazaar name: Jewel of Creation / 29,997 gil)

Soul Powder x1, Wargod's Band x2, High Arcana x1

Soul Powder: 10% drop with Warmage's Monograph and steal from Etem in Henne Mines, Special Charter Shaft you must have obtained 10 espers and defeated the mark Mindflayer and talk to geomancer in Jahara to access this area. Need only 1 (Got one from Ixtab, and an Empyreal Soul from Monteblanc)

Wargod's Band: Drop (Hunter's Monograph, 5%) from Leynir (Nabreus Deadlands, Lifeless Strand) Need total of 4

High Arcana: You should have gotten 2 from Montblanc, but if you have sold them, then you have much more work to do, if you have them, then great. Now if you have 2 then you need only 2 more. You can steal one from any Esper or fight some rare games and their 5% drop chance. Rest of section after Serpentarius.

Serpentarius: (Bazaar name: Jewel of the Serpent / 19,998 gil

Snake Skin x4, Serpent Eye x2, High Arcana x1

Snake Skin: Very common Drop and Steal from Wildsnake in Giza Plains during the Dry, Toam Hills. Need a total of 12

Serpent Eye: 8% drop with Hunter's Monograph Basilisk in The Feywood, all areas south of the Save Crystal. Need a total of 6 (or 5 if you defeated Marilith Mark)

High Arcana: After Serpentarius

High Arcana: (bazaar name: Life Crystal / 9,999 gil) Only Need 4 due to the bazaar workings… (more details next)

Arcana x10, Feystone x1, Soul of Thamasa x1

You have a Soul of Thamasa from the Deathscythe hunt and if you have had the Canopic Jar the whole time, then you should have plenty of Arcana

Feystone: steal from anyElemental or Entite.

Soul of Thamasa:. Steal from rare game Ishteen, a Trophy Monster in the Barheim Passage, East-West Bypass/The Zeviah Span: Initially 2% appearance chance, chance increases by 2% every 10 seconds) DO NOT KILL OR IT WILL BE GONE FOREVER! OR 6% drop with Warmage's Monograph from Oversoul in the Necrohol of Nabudis: appears after you've killed a certain amount of enemies

2x Soul Powder or 1, if you have already sold the one from Ixtab mark

3x High Arcana or 2 or 1
12x Snake Skin

NOW READ VERY CAREFULLY AND DO EXACTLY AS I SAY
Sell 1 Scarletite, 2 Damascus Steel and 2 Hell-Gate's Flame and then go bazaar and BUY the Matchless Metal. Sell the other 1 Scarletite, 2 Damascus Steel and 2 Hell-Gate's Flame and then go bazaar and BUY the Matchless Metal

If you are positive that you haven’t sold a high arcane yet then Sell 1 High Arcana 4x Snake Skin, 2x Serpent Eye, 1 Soul Powder (or none if you have sold the one from Ixtab Mark), and 2x Wargod's Band. Enter the bazaar and BUY both Jewel of the Serpent and Jewel of Creation. And Now Repeat… And then sell Snake Skin x4, Serpent Eye x2, High Arcana x1, and BUY the Jewel of the Serpent.

Now you should have 3 Serpentarius, 3 Gemsteel, and 3 Empyreal Souls, Now sell them to unlock the weapon Tournesol in the bazaar and you can buy it…. But for the price of 600,000 gil… better save up!
